The Neurology department at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital was established in 2013. Dr. Muhammad Moen Ahmed was the first Head. Inially the department worked in collaboraon with Medical Unit 1. In 2015, the department started its own, fully funconal, 20 bedded ward facility. Neurology department got accredited by CPSP for Fellowship training in Neurology in 2016 and commenced MDNeurology training in 2017. The department is progressing under its current Head, Dr. Faheem Saeed who is leading a team of eight MD Neurology and six FCPS Neurology residents. The infrastructure includes separate male and female wards, a procedure room, Electrophysiological tesng room, doctor’s office, nursing room, class room, conference room and a fully funconal library with e-library facilies. The department offers Electrophysiological tesng and also provides the facility for Plasmapheresis. OPD service are offered twice a week and a specialized Epilepsy outdoor clinic provides services once a week. In addion, the department also caters OPD services once a week in Govt. Teaching Hospital, Shahdara. On call service provision to Emergency and other departments is a regular feature of roune operaons, reflecng on the collaborave spirit at the heart of department’s funconing philosophy. The department also conducts lectures for undergraduates ,as well as takes part in their clinical rotaons.
