The 35th meeting of the Syndicate, FJMU, was presided over by the Hon’ble Minister for Health Punjab, Prof. Dr. Javed Akram.
Vice Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Prof. Khalid Masud Gondal, welcomed all the members of the Syndicate.

The meeting started with the recitation from the Holy Quran.
Chairperson, Department of Medicine/ Dean Faculty of Nursing/ Director Quality Enhancement Cell, Prof. Bilquis Shabbir, gave a detailed briefing on the achievements of the FJMU during the year 2023. Fatima Jinnah Medical University shines in the UI Green Metrics Ranking! We are proud to be ranked 689 globally, securing the top spot among medical universities in Pakistan and 31st among all universities nationwide. This achievement would not have been accomplished without our distinguished Vice Chancellor’s inspiring leadership and unwavering backing. We extend our sincere gratitude to the entire QEC team. Their devotion and hard work have been crucial in accomplishing this amazing accomplishment. The strength of cooperation is demonstrated by the fact that this award is also the product of the combined efforts of every member of our academic community. This achievement is not just a recognition of our past efforts but also a commitment to an even more sustainable future. We pledge to continue our efforts in fostering a green campus, promote eco-friendly practices, and inspiring positive change within and beyond our university walls. She also informed the members about the FJMU memberships in two prestigious organisations, namely the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) and the Asia Pacific Quality Network (APQN), and a prominent position amongst the top universities globally in the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) Ranking and the World’s Universities with Real Impact (WURI) Ranking. The Hon’ble Health Minister of Punjab, Prof. Dr. Javed Akram, appreciated all the faculty of FJMU for organizing both the curricular and extracurricular activities in the university.
In the meeting, the recommendations from the Finance and Planning Committee FJMU were presented by the Registrar, FJMU, and Treasurer, FJMU, for approval of the framework contracts for SGRH, contracts for janitorial and security services, procurement plans, service delivery and development projects of MCH, and other financial matters, which were approved by the Syndicate, FJMU.
The Hon’ble Minister for Health, Punjab, Dr. Javed Akram, apprised that efforts are being made to provide better health facilities to the ailing humanity, as per the vision of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Punjab, Syed Mohsin Naqvi. There is special attention being given to quality research in the medical institutions in Punjab. He said that all the decisions in the meeting were taken for the welfare of ailing humanity.
The chair ended the meeting with a vote of thanks, which was followed by a group photo of all the members of the syndicate.
