The event was graced by the distinguished presence of Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal, the esteemed Vice Chancellor of FJMU, who honored the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The event was held under the vigilant oversight of Staff President Dr. Naghmana Latif and Chairperson, Department of Medicine/ Director of QEC/ Dean of Nursing, Prof. Dr. Bilquis Shabbir.
During the welcoming address, Dr. Noreen Akmal delivered an eloquent speech that underscored the profound importance of Qira’at and Naat while passionately encouraging students to actively partake in such spiritually significant gatherings.
The esteemed Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud, imparted his wisdom to the students of Fatima Jinnah Medical University, urging them to wholeheartedly engage in all Shanawar events and emphasising the paramount role of Islam in our lives.
The event also witnessed the presence of the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Kamran Khalid Khawaja, and faculty members of FJMU.
The event’s meticulous organization was carried out by Dr. Asma Junaid, Dr. Faiza Abrar, and Dr. Amber Noreen, who worked diligently to ensure its success.
The distinguished panel of judges presiding over the Qira’at and Naat events included Dr. Noor Ul Ain Waheed (Head of the Biochemistry Department), Dr. Munazza Iqbal (Former Head of the Department of Pathology, Dean of Basic Sciences, and Dean Undergraduate), and Miss Syeda Tahira Yousaf (Head of Department in Government Islamia College, Lahore).
A diverse array of participants hailing from different universities such as GC, PU, UCP, UVAS, Shalamar Medical College, Kinnaird Women College, UET, and Superior University exhibited their enthusiasm as they participated in the Qira’at and Naat competition with fervour.
Professor Dr. Munaza Iqbal delivered an inspiring address to the students, urging them to wholeheartedly participate in religious activities, notwithstanding their busy involvement in worldly pursuits. At the conclusion of the event, prizes were bestowed upon the winners as a token of encouragement.
Furthermore, prizes were also distributed among the dedicated executive teams of the Shanawar Qira’at and Naat Society. Shields were presented to the judges and organizers of the Shanawar Qira’at and Naat Society in recognition of their contributions.
