The 76th Independence Day of Pakistan was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Lahore. A grand ceremony was organised on this occasion.
The Hon’ble Health Minister of Punjab, Dr. Javed Akram, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Vice Chancellor FJMU Prof. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal, alongwith the faculty, welcomed the distinguished guest.
The ceremony was moderated by Prof Bilquis Shabbir, Acting Principal FJMC.
The Ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. A grand flag hoisting ceremony was held on Pakistan’s Independence Day. Health Minister Punjab Dr. Javed Akram, alongwith Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal, paid tribute to the national humanitarians by hoisting the national flag in the background of the national anthem and promised that, like this flag, we will bring this beloved country to the heights of development.
The Honorable Health Minister Dr. Javed Akram congratulated Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Kamran Khalid Khawaja on receiving the Best University Teacher Award (BUTA) of 2022 from the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. The E-log System of FJMU was inaugurated as a part of the project of upgradation of Campus Management System of FJMU.
Prof. Syed Farrukh Ali Shah, alongwith Prof Kamran Khawaja, Prof Bilquis Shabbir , Prof. Muhammad Nadeem and other guests participated in the Tree Planting Campaign, and planted saplings.
On this joyful occasion, a cake was also cut at Fatima Jinnah Medical University on Independence Day and receipt of the Best University Teacher Award by Prof. Kamran Khalid Khawaja.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal offered a special prayer for the development and prosperity of the nation and the country.
On this occasion, the Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Kamran Khalid Khawaja, Registrar Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nadeem, Acting Principal/Chairperson Medicine/Director Quality Enhancement Cell Prof. Bilquis Shabbir, Deans Prof. Naveed Akbar Hotiana, Prof. Aliya Zahid, Syndicate Members Prof. Syed Farrukh Ali Shah, Prof. Munir Salimi, Former Vice Chancellor Prof. Shamsa Humayun, Prof. Munazza Iqbal, Prof. Muniza Qayyum, faculty members, and a large number of students were also present.
The Hon’ble Health Minister of Punjab, Dr. Javed Akram, expressed his views on Independence Day. He said that we got the blessing of freedom after making many sacrifices. We should contribute fully to the development and prosperity of the nation. We are fortunate to live our lives as free citizens.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal also shared his views on Independence Day. He said that 14th August is a very special day for our beloved country, Pakistan, and the preparations to celebrate this special day are special. Every Pakistani should play his part in the development of the country. He further said that “Undoubtedly, freedom is a great blessing. The freedom we breath today is due to the great sacrifices and long struggles of our ancestors and today is the day to pay homage to their unprecedented sacrifices”. Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal thanked the Health Minister of Punjab for his visit. The national songs were played in the ceremony.
A Special Guard of Honour was also presented to the Hon’ble Health Minister Punjab, Dr. Javed Akram and the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal, on this occasion.
