A seminar was conducted in collaboration with Fatima Jinnah Medical University and Fatima Jinnah Medical College Alumni Association of North America, in which the services of doctors in flood affected areas were appreciated and women health issues were discussed.
Former Vice Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Medical University Prof. Aamer Zaman Khan graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
Former Principal King Edward Medical University Prof. Mahmood Ali Malik, Former Minister of Education Punjab/ Chairman Task Force of Education Punjab Mr. Mian Imran Masood, Former Principal Fatima Jinnah Medical College Prof. Akbar Chaudhry and President Fatima Jinnah Medical College Alumni Association of North America Dr. Fizza Rafiq also attended the seminar as a Special Guests.

Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Shamsa Humayun, Dean Undergraduates Prof. Muniza Qayyum, Registrar Prof. Muhammad Nadeem, Deans Prof. Munazza Iqbal, Prof. Abdul Hameed, Prof. Zohra Khanum and Principal FJMC Prof. Noreen Akmal and a large number of Undergraduate and Postgraduate students attended the seminar.
In the welcome address, Vice Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Medical University Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal thanked all the Distinguished Guests from the bottom of his heart. On this occasion, he said that the credit goes to Dr. Fizza Rafique and Fatima Jinnah Medical College Alumni Association of North America for the Rehabilitation mission of the flood victims. He praised Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ali Malik and said that in 1960, he was awarded the Century Best Graduate Award by Field Marshal Muhammad Ayub Khan at King Edward Medical College, Lahore. He has also served as Principal of Allama Iqbal Medical College. He served as the Chairman Board of Governor, Fatima Jinnah Medical College. He said that the World’s Best Prevention Thalassemia Center is established adjacent to Fatima Jinnah Medical University in which the best healthcare facilities are being provided. He further apprised that the establishment of State-of-the-Art Institute Fatima Jinnah Institute of Mother & Child Health is a very commendable initiative for the public, which is the result of the efforts of the Government of Punjab. He further informed that for the first time in Pakistan, four new Supra-specialties of Gynecology are being started in 2023, which include the specialties of Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility, Gynecological Oncology, Maternal & Fetal Medicine and Urogynecology. On this occasion, Prof. Khalid Masud Gondal also inaugurated the second edition of the book written on Gynecology by Prof. Shamsa Humayun, Prof. Shamila Ejaz Munir and Dr. Saima Chaudhry.
Former Principal Prof. Akbar Chaudhry said that Fatima Jinnah Medical University has a unique culture. The purpose of establishing the university is to provide wide opportunities for Education and Research. He further thanked Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal and the faculty of the University.
Prof. Mahmood Ali Malik said in his address that Fatima Jinnah Medical University is one of the Renowned Medical Institute of the country. He congratulated Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal for organizing such a successful Symposium.
Mr. Mian Imran Masood said in his speech, said that Fatima Jinnah Medical University is the only university for women. We should make our women educated so that an educated society can be established. He further said that special attention will be given to Fatima Jinnah Medical University by the Punjab Government in future.
Dr. Fizza Rafiq in her address thanked the Vice Chancellor of Fatima Jinnah Medical University Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal, Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Shamsa Humayun, Former Vice Chancellor of Fatima Jinnah Medical University Prof. Aamer Zaman Khan and all the faculty of the university. She appreciated the tireless efforts and great initiatives of Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal’s for Fatima Jinnah Medical University. The services of Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal and Fatima Jinnah Medical University in the Rehabilitation processes for the flood victims are supreme. She further informed that Corneal Transplant has been started in the Ophthalmology Department of SGRH with the cooperation of Alumni, in which about 60 Corneal Transplants have been done so far. On this occasion, the speakers talked about Women’s Health.
Former Vice Chancellor Prof. Aamer Zaman Khan said that Fatima Jinnah Medical University has excellent features. Its faculty is pride of institution and it is the fortune of Fatima Jinnah Medical University to have a Vice Chancellor like Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal. Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal is a highly qualified person. He said that Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal will definitely take this institution to the new heights.
In the concluding session, certificates were distributed on the completion of the Health Professionals Education Course and Cash Prizes and certificates were also distributed among the students for achieving Significant Success in the Posters Competition. After that, Souvenirs and Honorary Shields were also distributed to all the Distinguished Guests and Faculty of the University.
