INAUGURATION OF CLASS ROOM DEPTT OF MEDICINE FJMU

Fatima Jinnah Medical University is improving its standards of undergraduate as well as postgraduate teaching under the able leadership of the Vice Chancellor Prof Khalid Masood Gondal Today, the Vice Chancellor inaugurated the new purpose-built doctor’s duty office/library for PGRs and house officers and renovated classroom in Medical Unit 2, Sir Gangaram hospital. During the visit, he was accompanied by the chief guest, eminent teacher and retired Prof of Medicine, Prof Irshad Hussain Qureshi, Prof Manzoor Ahmed (retired Prof of ENT), Prof Noreen Akmal (Principal FJMU), Prof Muneeza Qayyum (Dean Undergraduate), Prof Munazza Iqbal (Dean Basic Sciences), Prof Muhammad Nadeem Kasuri (Registrar FJMU), Prof Bilquees Shabbir (Chairperson Department of Medicine), Prof M Naeem Afzal, HOD medical unit 2, and faculty of Medicine FJMU. The newly built doctors office houses comfortable seating and tea club for doctors, a capacious bookshelf with all the necessary books of Internal Medicine, and printed copies of New England Journal of Medicine, and Pakistan Journal Of Medical Sciences. The registrar desk offers a space for counseling for patients and families. A computer system in the doctors office with the internet gives round the clock access to E-library. The classroom is renovated with new chairs for students, new multimedia projectors, laptops, and stable internet connections for in-house as well as online teaching facilities. Dr. M Naeem Afzal welcomed and thanked the worthy Voice Chancellor, Prof Khalid Masood Gondal, chief guest Prof Irshad Hussain, and other guests for gracing the occasion. He thanked the MS SGRH, Dr Athar Yousaf for providing material as well as logistic support for construction of the room; and appreciated the whole team of medical unit 2, who worked tirelessly in materializing the endeavor. The Vice Chancellor, in his address, appreciated the facilities and acknowledged the efforts by the team of the department of medicine, as well as the support of administration, for this noble cause. In the end, tea was served, and the hosts thanked the guests with the promise to utilize the facilities for the best teaching output, research, and patient welfare.
