A two-day conference on Health Research and Education 2023 was held at Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan Medical College, Shaikh Zayed Medical Complex, Lahore, from September 19–20, 2023.
Vice Chancellor, FJMU Prof. Khalid Masud Gondal, graced the occasion as a Special Guest Panelist. Prof. Bilquis Shabbir, Chairperson Department of Medicine / Dean Nursing / Director QEC represented the faculty of FJMU .
The keynote speaker, Prof. Mowadat Hussain Rana, Professor of Psychiatry, Lead Faculty Medical Education, CPSP, delivered an insightful lecture on educational leadership and the development of healthcare systems in the developing world.
A significant highlight of the conference was the panel discussion on ‘Medical Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Ethics Regarding Public and Private Sector Perspectives.’ This engaging discussion was led by Prof Suhail Chughtai, Prof Javed Gardezi, Prof Khalid Masud Gondal, Prof Mahmood Shoukat, Prof Ayyaz Mahmood, and Prof Farooq Afzal. The panel explored critical issues surrounding medical entrepreneurship and ethical considerations from both the public and private sector viewpoints. Vc Prof Khslid Masud Gondal pointed the importance of modifying the current curriculum as a gradually process for a successful outcome, the establishment of Fatima tuz Zohra Business Incubation Cell at FJMU, and the importance of establishing of Entrepreneurship culture amongst our medical students and doctors. He talked sbout how the medical graduates are warmly welcomed in Europe and how they prove their mettle in the country and abroad due to their commitment, dedication and selfless services. Medical Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Ethics Regarding Public and Private Sector Perspectives was discussed by the various panelists. Stakeholders and senior faculty members from various public and private medical institutions attended the conference.
The conference ended by the concluding remarks of the guest of honour, Prof. Abdul Majeed Chaudhry, and certificate distribution.
