Country Head of United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Dr. Luay Shabaneh, along with Technical Specialist Punjab UNFPA Mr. Shoaib Ahmed Shahzad and UNFPA team including Dr. Mahnoor Fatima and Ms. Momnah Asad visited Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Lahore.
Vice Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Medical University Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal welcomed the delegation along with the university faculty and gave a detailed briefing regarding the ongoing projects of Fatima Jinnah Medical University. He said that Fatima Jinnah Medical University performance is outstanding in the field of Education, Teaching, Research and Quality Service Delivery.
The delegation visited UNFPA Center established at College of Nursing and Midwifery, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and reviewed the development works. After that, the delegation also visited State of the Art Institute, Fatima Jinnah Institute of Mother & Child Health. They said that Fatima Jinnah Institute of Mother & Child Health is serving the public with the best modern medical facilities. They were very impressed by the world-class facilities of this institution.
On this occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal said that midwifery program will be started very soon in College of Nursing and Midwifery, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. He said that post-graduation programs in nursing and midwifery program will also be started soon. He further said that Fatima Jinnah Institute of Mother and Child Health is providing the best public health facilities to mother and child.
Country Head UNFPA Dr. Luay Shabaneh said that I feel very proud to be here in this hospital. What I have seen here is very impressive. The Midwifery Program is the need of the hour and being representative of UNFPA, I am proud to be a part of this partnership. I pay tribute to the leadership of Govt. of the Punjab, Health Department Punjab, University & Hospital Management, Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal and Prof. Zohra Khanum who tried their best to do excellent work for the province and people. And I believe that it will be a game changer for the future of Pakistan.
