Basic sciences have always served as back bone of undergraduate and graduate programs in medical science. Department of Physiology has been imparting high quality basic education to its students in an effort to train them as competent physicians and researchers for tomorrow. Ever since its establishment in 1948, Physiology department has relentlessly pursuit excellence in both teaching and research through delivery of well design curriculum.

Department of Physiology in FJMU was founded by Dr. Shujaat Ali in 1948, followed by eminent Professors like Dr. Rose Madan (Presidential award) Currently it is  headed by Prof.Dr. Shireen Khawar. She is Dean Basic Medical Sciences, Dean  undergraduate wing of FJMU.
