Prof Khalid Masood Gondal, Vice Chancellor FJMU and Prof Bilquis Shabbir, Prof. of Medicine/ Director QEC, FJMU, Member DEAG, Govt of Punjab, arranged a Seminar on Dengue Management and Quality Healthcare at FJMU, in collaboration with DEAG, in the context of ongoing crisis in our region.

Guests of Honor Vice Chancellor KEMU Prof Mahmood Ayaz, Ex- Vice Chancellor FJMU Prof Aamer Zaman Khan, Dr Athar Ahmed Saeed, Consultant Gastroenterologist UK , Prof Muhammad Tayyab and Prof Muhammad Asghar Butt.
Pro VC Prof Shamsa Humayun, Dean Undergraduate FJMC Prof Munazza Iqbal, Dean, Public Health and Preventive Medicine, KEMU Prof Saira Afzal. SPEAKERS were Prof Bilquis Shabbir, Prof Muhammad Imran and Prof M Naeem Afzal.
Vice Chancellor FJMU Prof Khalid Masood Gondal threw light on the ongoing need of hour for training of junior doctors for the management and follow up of dengue patients. He also appreciated the FJMU teams working so diligently in Flood Relief camps and Dengue wards in Ganga Ram Hospital.
Chief Guest President CPSP highlighted the need for post graduate training in infectious diseases and how we are lacking in this field in our country and ensured that we as a nation will work towards progressing in this field. He appreciated the contributions of Minister for Health Prof Dr.Yasmeen Rashid for ailing humanity.
Guest of Honor Vice Chancellor KEMU Prof Mahmood Ayaz highlighted the important point of how dengue patients can present in surgical ER, and how we can diligently manage those patients if we timely diagnose the cause. He also talked about Women Empowerment and flexible working hours for female doctors.
Guest of Honor Prof Amir Zaman Khan appreciated the endeavours FJMU is carrying out and milestones being achieved regarding recent flood and dengue crisis.
Finally, a thorough and comprehensive lecture on Dengue was presented by Professors of Medicine, with Prof Bilquis presented the dilemmas in Dengue recognition and management, clinical features ,the pitfalls of delayed recognition if leaky phase. Prof Muhammad Imran presented Barriers and Bridges in the management and Prof Naeem Afzal presented the monitoring and follow-up
The Seminar ended with the vote of thanks by Prof Shamsa Humayun Pro VC and distribution of souvenirs. FJMU Faculty and ALUMNI (FJMCAANA ) recent visit, medical camps and flood relief rehabilitation programs in villages of Fazilpur Distt Rajan Pur were also presented through motivational and inspirational video.
